Glued woods
Beech wood is enjoying great popularity for steps, solid hardwood worktops, furniture boards and wedge-shaped boards and is wonderfully suited to use in these areas.
Beech is a moderately hard to hard wood having above average resistance characteristics. It is easily divisible, tough and very sustainable.
It can be easily and cleanly worked with any hand or machine tool, and, due to its uniform structure, is especially good to mill-cut.
As a rule, longitudinal and vertical surfaces, edging, fitting accuracy and glued connections are of a high quality.
The wood is pre-drilled when screws and nails are used.
The low form stability of beech in varying moisture is certainly a risk that must be considered, especially when working in larger dimensions.
